Never Say Never: Our home away from home

After 4 1/2 months, it was time to grow up and get a big boy bed. Our bed from Ikea just wasn't cutting it. Aside from feeling like we were 12 sleeping in that bed, the mattress was probably not meant for two adults and certainly was not the most comfortable. We bough a new bed for ourselves and gave the "old" one to Drew. That meant it was time to say good bye to the crib. Nothing like going from a crib to a QUEEN sized bed. He looks so small in there, but he loves it. He transitioned SO easily, slept straight through the night and called for us in the morning when he woke up. Same with his naps. Too easy.

Along with bedroom changes, we've added a few pictures to a blank wall, changed from the red couch to two black couches and put our tiny fake Christmas tree up. It's not what we're used to, but it's working. The Charlie Brown tree is growing on me and this place is beginning to transform into a home for us. It's a far cry from the spacious 1900 sq ft we were used to (believe me, after living in a 1200sq ft condo, 1900sq ft is SPACIOUS), but it works.

I can't explain how nice it is to have a grown up bedroom now. Seriously.

The picture situation is quite tricky. Can't use nails on concrete walls, so they're hung by velcro. The pictures behind dining room table are of Singapore & Bali landscape. There are 9 pictures there...a lot of velcro!

MUCH better with 2 couches. One wasn't cutting it for our family of 4.

Last night we went out for dinner with Alex & Jill. We ate at a great Mexican restaurant on Arab Street (read that sentence again). It was fun to go down there as I've heard a lot about how cute it is. People were right - what a great little area! Jill and I will have to head back sans husbands so we can do some shopping.
