Mother's Day Weekend

It took me until May to feel the need to get away for a night. That surprised me, considering we traveled every break we had for the past two years. We hadn't been to Astoria before and many people had said it was worth spending a day in. The weather was beautiful the first day we were there and we enjoyed the time away. It was the perfect way to spend Mother's Day with my boys.

A highlight for me was finding a beer I actually liked.

We climbed to the top of the Astoria Column - the boys were not a fan of the height. 

That was A LOT of stairs and a very narrow space.

Luke was excited to "find" Sacajawea as he had just read about her at school. :)

Exploring the camp of Lewis & Clark  

This picture is proof that Adam was there too. Ha! The boys worked very hard to fill out their activity books so they could become Junior Rangers. They got certificates, badges and took an oath. They were really excited and cared for about 15 minutes. 

It was a great two days away and reminded me a bit of our travels overseas. Even though we were only 2 hours from home, we were together, just the four of us, having fun in a new place. I feel extremely blessed to do life with these three.
